Join us for this OutdoorLads Somerset weekend with hostel double-act Neil (Sharpie) and Simon (Snorman42) where they'll welcome you to one of the UK's seven natural wonders, Cheddar Gorge.
Nestled in the Mendips we'll have a weekend of socialising, tourism and adventure, so whether you're a regular hostel attendee or it's your first one, we're sure you'll find this a welcoming and enjoyable experience.
Activities are yet to be confirmed but it's highly likely we'll have the option of a walk, there are plenty of tourist options and there will more thank likely be some cheese involved at some point...it is the home of it after all.
What to bring
As it's a YHA, all bed linen is provided, but you will need to bring your own towel(s), your washing kit and clothes to wear about the hostel.
Depending on what activity you plan to do, you'll need to pack according to the weather. Here’s a brief check list: Hiking boots, Walking socks, and Walking trousers (not jeans or joggers please), Waterproof trousers, Waterproof jacket, Hat, Rucksack. Non essentials include any personal Emergency Equipment or medical supplies and map/compass if you’d just like to know where you are.
Food & drink
The event cost includes breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, dinner on Saturday evening and tea/coffee throughout the weekend.
Dinner on Friday evening will be a buffet. Please bring a contribution to feed about 2-3 people please.
You will need a packed lunch for Saturday daytime - fridge space will be provided where available.
You are welcome to bring your own soft and alcoholic drinks for the weekend.
