Celebrating Oktoberfest - Reading Social
15 people attending
0 places left
For the next of our quarterly Reading socials we will be celebrating Oktoberfest at Bierhaus, which is Reading's first German bar and restaurant, serving a section of German beers and traditional home-cooked food.
Please see more about the venue and menu by clicking here.
Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival, held annually in Munich, Germany. It begins in late September and concludes on the first weekend in October, lasting around 16–18 days. The festival is famous for traditional Bavarian beer, food, music, and parades, with many attendees wearing classic attire such as lederhosen for men and dirndls for women. It attracts millions of visitors from across the globe. With our event you have the opportunity to sample Oktoberfest in Reading without travelling the distance to Bavaria!!
Autumn is now well upon us so it would be great to share more about what you did over the summer and plans for the remainder of the year as the days are starting to draw in. These socials are also a good opportunity to compare notes about the wonderful local activities run by ODL, such as the popular Reading indoor bouldering events, local hikes, socials and weekend events. This event is also particularly ideal for new members who want to find out more about the group and events being arranged in the locality.
For those returning to the station afterwards you may wish to drop by the Blagrave Arms (Reading’s only LGBT+ bar) which is just across the road from the front entrance!
