Along established footpaths although these can occasionally be muddy or uneven. There is a steep 140m ascent towards the start of the walk.

Meeting in Cardiff, we'll catch a train to Taff's Well and walk 14km (9miles) back along the famous River Taff into Cardiff city centre.

On the way we'll visit Castell Coch, William Burges' 19th Century neo-gothic masterpiece, described as "one of the greatest Victorian triumphs of architectural composition." There'll be plenty of time to explore inside the castle (and the tea room) before we head back down the Taff.

NB. While this is a fairly easy walk, the first 2km are mainly uphill (an initial 140m climb) along paths which can be uneven.
