🏴⛰ 🌲 🏄♂️🚴♂️ 🥾 🏃♂️🪴🌿🌳🔥 🍽️
Fancy camping in your tent in the middle of the Glenmore forest, in the Cairngorm National Park surrounded by forests, Loch Morlich, Loch An Eilein and the Cairngorm mountain range?
Hillwalking, cycling, running, kayaking and paddle boarding all on your doorstep!! We also intend to offer conservation events which proved popular in 2024.
This page is for camping in your own tent - or you could choose to stay in a lodge, see this separate event page.
Booking via OutdoorLads is the only way to camp at the site. The price is per person camping. 5 nights of camping and a contribution to communal expenses is included in the event cost (communal hiring of activities hall, welcome drink on the 1st evening at the event briefing, BBQ area hire, cost of charcoal, snacks and desserts for the BBQ) so you do NOT need to also sign up to the Multi Activity Event . Please bring your own drinks and food to cook on the BBQ.
Evening events:
Friday 20:30 - Welcome Drink & social (activities hall)
Saturday 19:00 - BBQ (BBQ bothy)
Sunday 20:00 - Quiz (activities hall)
Monday 20:00 - Social around the campfire 🔥
Tuesday 18:30 - Drinks, group meal & social (The Penny Bun)
Telegram group (set up one week prior to the event): A whiteboard will be placed under the gazebo and updated daily with a list of all activities and events available each day. Each evening, a daily update will also be sent to group members with the schedule of activities planned for the following day.
The location is 1100ft high in the forest with great views and lots of different options on the doorstep without having to move your car! The closest railway station is Aviemore (5 miles away) with several trains and buses links to Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Direct flights from London Gatwick and Bristol to Inverness airport only 30 mins drive away.
The actual activities will vary depending on the weather at the time but we already have a variety of different walks, mountain bike routes, forest cycles and running routes available. A short briefing each evening along with a message will be sent to all attendees so you’ll be able to see what’s on offer each day and to keep you updated of any changes! The meeting place for all events is outside the Wigwam kitchen.
On our 1st evening there will be a welcome drink, short event briefing & social in the activities hall and on Saturday a BBQ (Please bring your own food to cook on the BBQ) and an opportunity to socialise each evening in the communal kitchen & social space for campers (shown in the photos) - an ideal space when it’s raining!
PLEASE NOTE : OutdoorLads will be sharing the site with other guests. No noise is permitted after 11pm and participants must respect the other guests staying on site. This is therefore a quiet camping event.
Dogs and campervans / caravans etc: Sorry, no dogs allowed and campervans are not permitted at Badaguish.
PAY IN INSTALMENTS If you would prefer to pay in monthly instalments, please contact the office team (or raise a support ticket) and we can discuss the options available to you, depending on the time available between booking and the event taking place. There will be additional terms and conditions to agree to before you commit. You won't pay anything extra to pay in instalments. You will need to be paid up on month before the event starts.
OUTDOORLADS FOUNDATION Fancy coming along but having a difficult time of it (for whatever reason), and/or finding it hard to justify the expense? Apply for a place on this event through the OutdoorLads Foundation! Nobody apart from staff members will know and we don't need lots of financial info from you either. To apply through the Foundation, you'll need to complete a very short form, which can be found along with more information here.

What to bring
Recommended Kit List
In addition to what you need for the daytime activities, some reminders for what you'll need for camping:
Hand sanitiser and a face covering: whilst we are living with Covid-19, please bring your own to events to help keep everyone safe
Tent: make sure you know how to pitch it, even in bad weather or in the dark. Check you have all the poles, ropes and pegs. A 3 season tent is the minimum recommended level of protection.
Sleeping bag: one that provides adequate warmth, designed to go below the temperature that you expect
Sleeping mat: will keep you warmer and dryer
Waterproof bags: for spare, dry clothing
Food: search online for camping food that’s easy to cook and filling
Hot drinks: at least in cold weather
Cooking Equipment: check you have fuel and know how yours works
Eating equipment: mug, bowl or plate and cutlery
Washing up equipment: detergent, brush/scourer and tea towel
Wash kit: remember to include a towel, shower gel and shampoo
Torch: or easier still, a head torch
Food & drink
I’d recommend bringing all the food you require for the trip, however there is a small shop at Loch Morlich campsite and there is a Wigwam kitchen at Badaguish campers can use with limited cooking facilities!
Aldi, Tesco & M & S are available in Aviemore. There is also a farm shop & Deli at Rothiemurchus 3 miles from the campsite ideal for buying food for the BBQ.
