BSC26: Llyn Padarn & Dinorwig Quarries walk (Sun)
20 people attending
0 places left
This is one of the events organised as part of Big Spring Camp 2026.
Join Ian on this scenic & historical walk from Padarn country park, taking in views of the Snowdonia mountains. From the carpark we’ll be walking into Llanberis before heading upto Dinorwig Barracks. The barracks once used for soldiers accommodation during the war years.
The walk involves some steep ascents through woodland on paths & tracks. The views from the top are just breathtaking as we look out at Snowdon & the surrounding mountains.
The latter part of the walk takes us through scenic woodland & the village of Dieniolwen before we make our return back towards Padarn Country Park.
If times allow we can have a drink in Llanberis before returning back to camp.

Gaiters: recommended for wet weather or boggy conditions
Socks: proper walking socks will keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters, and carry a spare, dry pair
Walking Poles: always optional, love them or hate them, but give them a try and decide for yourself
