BSC26: Conwy parkrun (Sat)
28 people attending
2 places left
This is one of the events organised as part of Big Spring Camp 2026.
Join Richard for Conwy parkrun, which is the closest parkrun to where we will be staying.
Course Description: The parkrun follows a simple point-to-point route along the banks of the river Conwy, with two short diversions towards Conwy castle on the outward and return section of the event. It is mostly flat, only climbing when it crosses the railway line over a pedestrian bridge. The path used for the parkrun is gravel/tarmac throughout.
About parkrun
The course is 5000m (5km) long. This has been accurately measured by parkrun with a professional measuring wheel. You run/walk at your own pace, don't be scared that you may be slower than other people. Some walk, some run, some jog, some do a combination of all three.
To take part in a parkrun and get your official time, you will need to have registered to receive your all important barcode. You will need to bring this barcode with you either printed or on your phone. Parkrun events are run nationwide and indeed internationally, so once you're signed up you can attend anywhere. If you don't have a barcode you can still run but won't get a time.
Meeting point: It is an early start (8:00 meet on site for 8:10 departure to drive the 22mins. The event takes place at Conwy Cob, Llandudno Junction, Conwy, LL32 8UB, so please be prompt - we will not be able to wait for latecomers.
If you are coming along to parkrun and wish to do a walk after you will need to sign up for a walk that starts after 10:00 as you will be hard-pushed to get back and ready for any event leaving at 10.00am or earlier. You will need to drive to the start, and where possible car share.
Please see under Location for meeting plans.

Dogs
parkrun allow one dog per person on a short lead (not extending). Running with more than one dog, extending leads or waist leads are not permitted at parkrun events. As a third party event, OutdoorLads does not have any control over this.

What to bring
Consider the weather ahead of setting off for your park run. It is important that you stay cool when running so try to pick lightweight clothing. Materials like polyester & nylon are perfect for the warmer months and wool is better suited for the winter. You don't need to invest in expensive running gear t-shirt and shorts, leggings will be fine, as well as a warm jumper for when you finish.
It might seem obvious, but running shoes are specifically designed for running, so you should wear them when you running if you have some. Trainers will be fine but wont provide as good cushioning or comfort.
Don't forget your parkrun barcode!
Food & drink
I would suggest bringing a drink of water to re hydrate after your run and you may wish to bring a snack bar or banana.
