BSC26: The BIG OutdoorLads Rounders Match! (Sat)

This is one of the events organised as part of Big Spring Camp 2026.
What is Rounders?
Think of it as the ultimate British school-day throwback! Rounders is a classic bat-and-ball game that’s all about speed, teamwork, and a bit of friendly competition. It’s similar to baseball but much faster and more social. The goal is simple: hit the ball, run like the wind around four bases, and get back to 'Home' before the fielding team stumps you out!
What to expect?
From 4:30pm on Saturday, we’ll kick things off with a quick "Spring Training" to get everyone’s arms warmed up and run through the basic rules. Once we’re ready, we’ll use our "Line of Fate" to split into teams and start The BIG OutdoorLads Rounders Match. We’ll play a series of high-energy innings, aiming to see which team can rack up the most points before the final whistle at 6:00pm!
Do I need previous experience?
None at all. Whether you were the school star or haven’t picked up a bat in twenty years, this session is for everyone. It’s a sociable activity, which means the focus is on having a laugh and getting moving. Our Ref, Emrys, will explain the rules, track the score, and make sure everything stays fair and fun.
Can I come along and just watch?
If you’d rather stay on the sidelines and provide some world-class heckling and cheering, please do! It’s a great way to soak up the atmosphere - but please don’t sign up for this event page if you aren't planning to play, so we can keep track of numbers for the teams.
Who’s running the session?
Emrys will be your Ref and coordinator for the afternoon. I’m an OutdoorLads member who loves getting everyone involved in the BSC spirit. I’ll be making the calls, tracking the points, and ensuring we have a BIG match that everyone enjoys!
Note: This session involves running. If you have any respiratory issues, please ensure you bring your inhalers or necessary medication with you.
