BSC26: The BIG Gay Knockout! (Sun)

This is one of the events organised as part of Big Spring Camp 2026.

What is The BIG Gay Knockout? 

Think of it as a high-octane, camp-as-Christmas garden party on steroids! This is a fast-paced, glitter-fueled gauntlet involving XXL high heels, weighted handbags, and a flurry of flying rubber chickens. It’s a series of outrageous challenges designed to test your balance in a stiletto, your throwing arm, and your ability to take direction while blindfolded and acting as a human wheelbarrow.

What to expect? 

From 5:00pm on Saturday, we’ll kick off with The Icon Draw. You’ll pull a mystery card to determine which legendary House you’ll represent: Team Kylie, Team Gaga, Team Cher, or Team Madonna. Once the "House Poses" are perfected, we dive into the games:

• The Stiletto Scramble: A high-speed relay where you must balance a rubber egg on a spoon while sprinting in XXL heels. Focus is key - keep that egg steady while you burn up the track!
• The Boutique Heave: Channel your inner diva for this strength test. Hurl a weighted handbag for maximum distance. Style is everything—make sure the Ref sees your best form!
• "Cock" in the Hoop: A frantic 90-second "Cluck-Off." Your team must launch as many rubber chickens into the basketball hoop as possible while the other teams try to distract you with their best heckling.
• Blindfolded Wheelbarrows: The grand finale! A zig-zag slalom race where the "Driver" is blindfolded and must rely entirely on the "Wheelbarrow" to navigate the course without flattening a cone.

We’ll keep the tunes pumping until the final whistle at 6:30pm, followed by the coronation of the winning House and the ultimate prize: a bottle of Prosecco to get the evening party started!

Do I need previous experience? 

None! Whether you were born in heels or usually stick to trainers, this is for everyone. The focus is on comedy, flair, and "Big Spring Camp" spirit. Our Lead Ref, Emrys, will be monitoring the "Billboard Charts" and handing out bonus points for the most fabulous falls and fiercest outfits.

Can I come along and just watch? 

Absolutely! We need a "Front Row" to provide vocal distractions and judge the style points. However, if you want to stay on the sidelines, please don't sign up on this page so we can ensure we have enough heels and "cocks" for the participants.

What should I bring? 

Wear something you can move in, but feel free to turn it up! Costumes, glitter, and color-coded House gear are highly encouraged. We provide the XXL heels, but if you have your own "lucky" pair, bring them along.

Who’s running the session? 

Emrys will be your Lead Ref and "Grand Master of Sass" for the afternoon. I’ll be the one with the whistle and the bubbles, making sure the competition stays fierce, the runway stays hot, and the winning House sashes away with the prize!
