Borrowdale is one of the most popular and beautiful valleys in the Lakes and is brilliantly positioned to tackle some of the best known fells. A huge range of walks are available from the site - both challenging and more leisurely. You could tackle Great Gable or Scafell or maybe wander in some of the quieter valleys exploring delightful rivers and tarns away from the crowds. If the weather is warm there are pools to swim in near by.
The site is in a stunning location with fells all around, and a river close by. Two well known pubs are within a few minutes walk. It has hot showers (50p) and the basic things you need but it is not a luxury site.
Dogs: Dogs are allowed on site free of charge, must be supervised at all times and not left running free for prolonged periods.
Caravans, Motohomes, Campervans: Are allowed at no additional cost, however there are no electrical hook-ups or hard-standing facilities.
What to bring
If you would like to go on one of the high walks (eg Scafell, Great Gable etc) you will need proper walking boots and waterproofs - even in the summer.
Food & drink
There are a couple of pubs nearby that you may choose to eat at. The nearest shops however are in Keswick. If you arrive from Keswick you will most likely drive past Booths which is a great supermarket to stock-up on. There is no shop on site.
