Beer on the Wye is Herefordshire’s biggest beer and cider three day festival and is set to take place on the banks of the River Wye (at the city’s rowing club) over the weekend of the 8-10 July 2022. Beer, cider, perry, food and live music all in one place!
Over 135 different beers (of every conceivable style, hue and strength) from the length of breath of the nation will feature on the main Beer Bar - a leviathan of barrels stretching for over 120 feet.
To showcase Herefordshire’s cider heritage as the best cider producing county in the UK, the event will bring you over 130 different cider and perries to try. A hundred of these are from Herefordshire producers, with some excellent offerings from outside the county too.
People come from all over the UK (nay the world) to see and try the largest selection of Herefordshire draught ciders and perries ever assembled under one roof. It all makes for a most impressive sight (and taste). With its wonderful laid-back atmosphere set in a riverside meadow in the historic heart of Hereford, Beer on the Wye has become a ‘must-do’ festival for many.
There is a £7.00 entry fee and a refundable £3.00 deposit for a glass (or keep it, I have a small collection at home now!) and the festival takes contactless card payments.
So why not join some ODL members for an afternoon in the Herefordshire sunshine, by the river, for a pint or three?
The leader and a few other members will be camping on site, which is independently run by the Rowing Club. You'll need to contact them directly if you wish to arrange to camp.
