Didn't you know? Scarborough has it all! Join me and our guide Andy for an amazing circular walk of Scarborough. This will be a full day's walk in order for us to take in all of the following:

  • The Mere (historic natural lake referred to in records as far back as 11th century)
  • Oliver's Mount (WW1 memorial, racing venue and commanding views over Scarborough)
  • The Clocktower and putting green
  • The Italian Gardens & Victorian Rose Garden
  • St. Mary's Church with Anne Bronte's grave
  • Scarborough Castle (12th century ruin) partially viewed from outside for free (or option to pay and go in)
  • Peasholm Park (oriental themed gardens and lake)
  • North Bay and round the Marine Drive to the
  • South Bay where we can walk on the beach

There are lots of opportunities for great photos of the above as well as views of:

  • The two bays and sandy beaches
  • The Royal (building used in the TV Heartbeak spin off series)
  • The historic Spa Hall and Spa Bridge
  • Valley Bridge (famous for being infamous)
  • Rotunda Museum (dating back to 1829, one of oldest in UK)
  • Queen Victoria's statue
  • The harbour
  • The old lighthouse
  • The Grand Hotel
  • The Tardis (original Police Box, Andy's Grandfather used it) if they haven't taken it away again.
  • 2 Cliff trams (one is oldest in UK)
  • Multi-coloured beach huts
  • Largest star disk in the UK
  • Donkeys ...and if you're lucky... the lifeguards in training, surfers and water skiing

And of course, there will also be an opportunity for:

  • The famous lemon top ice cream from Jaconelli's
  • Fish & chips
  • and plenty of café opportunities for a cuppa...

Dog owners note: Dogs are welcome but they will need to be on the leash most of the time. There might be an opportunity for dogs to have a little run off leash while up Oliver's Mount, and when on a dog friendly beach. Other beaches you can simply stroll along the promenade with us for the short distance.

Check out my other two events taking place this Bank Holiday weekend in Yorkshire see: odl.to/damo. I will be staying at YHA Dalby Forest Friday-Sunday night if you wish to join me, but spaces at the hostel are very limited so book now!
