The hill made famous by witchcraft, mist and mystery,  casts its spell over the Ribble Valley and the Borough of Pendle on this excellent high-level circular walk.

We're tackling the whaleback shape of Lancashire's Pendle Hill from Barley via the village of Newchurch-in-Pendle the home of the Demdike family of Pendle Witch fame.

We'll then head past Fell Wood overlooking the Ogden Reservoirs before heading up Cock Dole and onto Spence Moor and Black Hill. We'll then follow the Pendle Hill plateau in a clockwise direction along its North West flanks looking out over the Ribble Valley and the Yorkshire Dales, before reaching the trig point at Big End.

We'll then descend via the farms of Pendle Side and Windy Habour before walking past Lower Black Moss Reservoir and returning to Barley for a well-earned pint.
