North York Moors Autumn Weekend (North Yorkshire)

8000 acres of woodland coat the southern slopes of the North York Moors as they slide down to the historic market town of Richmond and the seaside resort of Scarborough. Woven in amongst the forest are hiking and bike trails aplenty. Ridge upon ridge of purple heather moorland extend into the distance beyond the forest. The deep secret valleys which cut the plateau come almost as a surprise and the warmth of their red-roofed villages contrasts with the upland solitude. We may be able to offer some mountain biking on this event subject to leader availability.
What Is The Area Like?
Lockton is perfectly situated to explore forest valleys, lakeside and moorland trails, and the impressive sandstone outcrops of the Bridestones. There's a friendly pub in the village and miles of hiking and biking trails from the door.
