Midweek Walks: Arundel circular and festival

The walk is an easy circular with some moderate gradient. We will head through the historic town of Arundel and into Arundel Park, passing a striking folly, and then down to Swanmore Lake. We then have two options, either loop along a stretch of the tranquil River Arun (total distance 4 miles), or head directly back to the town (total distance 3 miles). Both options will be available, with potential for the group to temporarily split into two if necessary.
The walk will culminate on a typically sociable note, except this time instead of the normal pub finish, we will finish at Jubilee Gardens. There is scheduled to be live music (advertised as having a Northern Soul theme) on an outdoor stage which is free to watch and part of the Arundel Festival. There will be a bar and takeaway food stalls/outlets for those who are thirsty and hungry.
What to bring
As this is an evening walk, it will be sufficient to wear comfortable clothing, suitable walking boots or footwear for rough (possibly muddy) paths, and a waterproof jacket in case of rain showers. As always, remeber to bring plenty of water, snacks if required, and any medication that you may need during the event.
Food & drink
Bring snacks, a litre or so of water and money for buying drinks and food at the end of the walk.
