County Durham: Wolsingham and Tunstall Reservoir

7 places left
A reasonably undemanding but picturesque 7 mile walk from the pretty village of Wolsingham alongside Waskerley Beck before gradually gaining height over the Tunstall valley to approach the reservoir. The route back cuts through Backstone Bank wood before climbing for views over the valley. There is one long but fairly shallow incline through fields and then a short ascent by track from the reservoir to an upper path but neither are challenging. There are a couple of high stiles, though well made.
Food & drink
There are general stores in Wolsingham (a 5 minute walk from the car park specified) with provisions, but please note there is nowhere to buy food and drink during the walk so please bring a packed lunch and adequate water for the walk.
