This circular walk is a bit of a step back to my childhood days as Kingham Hill School was where I once studied (honest I did study!). This walk will take in (and probably bring back painful memories of) cross country runs; however, it’s a beautiful part of the Cotswolds and not particularly well known so retains that Cotswold charm.

The begins at Kingham Railway Station where will set off just after 10.00am, heading up through Kingham village and skirting around the bottom of Kingham Hill where we can enjoy views across to Churchill & Chipping Norton. If it's a clear day you should be able to make out ‘Bliss Mill’. Part of the route will follow the old Kingham to Chipping Norton railway line (now long gone).

We then head through Cornwall and the first of three parks with magnificent houses, which is very common in this part of the world. A steep climb to Chastleton Barrow Fort where from the top of the hill we may break for lunch if it's a fine day, and enjoy lunch whilst overlooking the views. If it's not such a fine day will drop down into the village and find a suitable place for lunch.

Chastleton House is another fine example and managed by the National Trust. From here we pick up ‘The Diamond Way’ bridleway where we follow this back through Adlestrop and Daylesford to arrive at Bledington and our pub stop.

If you wish to continue and head back home the route follows the road back to Kingham Railway Station and will take around 15 – 20minutes.
