Bad news: Autumn is in full swing: the days are getting shorter and the winds are getting colder.
Good news: Autumn is in full swing and the Forest of Dean is one of the best places to be as the trees put on their finale of the year with a vision of orange, copper and brown interspersed with the dark green of the...evergreens!
We'll be starting the walk at the New Fancy View, which offers a stunning panoramic views. We'll wander down into the woodland and make our way around the eastern part of the forest.
Towards the end of the walk we'll come to Mallards Pike Lake, where we'll (hopefully) get the opportunity to feed the ducks and perhaps see some of the larger fish that inhabit the lake.
What to bring
Parts of the walk will potentially be muddy so please ensure you have reliable walking boots or walking shoes. Weather dependent you may want to consider bringing waterproof trousers.
General walking wear should suffice for this event otherwise (e.g. base layer, jumper, walking trousers etc). If this is your first event please refer to the "My First Day Walk" page: http://www.outdoorlads.com/events/my-first-day-walk
Food & drink
Please bring along a packed lunch, any snacks that you might wish to have for the walk and plenty of water.
