Starting at Hinckley Station in the centre of the town, we will quickly make our way onto the Ashby Canal. We will follow the canal for a while, arriving at the picturesque village of Stoke Golding. We will then go across country towards Barwell and on to Burbage Woods. From there we will return to Hinckley Station.

The precise route will be determined by the weather and available light on the day. Please do bring a torch. Wear  suitable footwear as mud and water is almost a certainty!

It is advisable to assume that there will not be any food outlet en route as the one shop half way around opens to suit local weather conditions at times.

Due to the time of year and likely winter weather, lunch will be a maximum of 30 minutes.

For anyone who has not been on a narrowboat, there may be the chance to visit Tilly Mint during the walk or at the end of the day.
